Job Summary
The Senior Network IP Engineer will have a deep understanding of IP networking, extensive hands-on experience with large-scale service provider network infrastructure, and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing complex network solutions. As a Senior Network IP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of our network services.
Essential Functions
Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and manage advanced IP network architectures, including routing, switching, and security protocols.
- Develop and deploy scalable network solutions to support high-availability and high-performance requirements.
- Perform in-depth network performance analysis and optimization to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including those related to latency, packet loss, and connectivity.
- Lead and manage network-related projects from inception to completion, including the coordination of resources and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and services.
- Implement and maintain network security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to network infrastructure.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide regular reports and updates on network performance, incidents, and improvements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IS-IS, Segment Routing, etc.) and technologies (DHCP, NAT, QoS, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, etc.).
- Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Strong background in Nokia SROS, Junos, and lOS-XR.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
