An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner with strong MEP and CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) experience to join a leading organisation delivering complex, high-value projects across construction, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical sectors in Dublin and County Kildare.

The Senior Planner will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining fully integrated project schedules across multi-disciplinary works, ensuring alignment between design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. The role requires strong technical understanding of both building services (MEP) and structural/civil packages (CSA), within highly regulated, technically complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Controls

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using tools such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
  • Build integrated schedules covering MEP, CSA, fit-out, and commissioning activities
  • Establish critical path analysis and identify programme risks, constraints, and opportunities
  • Ensure alignment of design, procurement, and construction sequencing across all disciplines

MEP & CSA Coordination

  • Work closely with MEP contractors and CSA delivery teams to sequence installation works
  • Coordinate structural, architectural, and services integration within complex build environments
  • Monitor mechanical, electrical, and public health installation progress against baseline programmes
  • Ensure CSA works (earthworks, reinforced concrete, steel structures, cleanroom shells) are fully integrated into logic-linked schedules

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Produce weekly and monthly programme updates, dashboards, and reports
  • Lead progress meetings with project teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
  • Track earned value, productivity rates, and forecast completion dates
  • Provide early warning of delays, risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Stakeholder & Commercial Support

  • Collaborate with project managers, commercial teams, and design managers
  • Support change management and delay analysis (EOT claims, variations)
  • Provide planning input for tenders and preconstruction activities when required

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive planning best practice across projects
  • Standardise planning processes, reporting structures, and programme controls
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Requirements

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Project Planner in construction or infrastructure
  • Strong background in MEP and CSA coordination on complex builds
  • Experience within construction, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical projects
  • Familiarity with cleanroom, controlled environments, or high-spec technical facilities is highly advantageous
  • Experience working with tier 1 or major main contractors preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential)
  • Experience with Asta Powerproject (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logic links, and critical path analysis
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation

Knowledge Areas

  • Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) systems installation
  • Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) construction processes
  • Cleanroom / controlled environment builds sequencing (advantageous)
  • Commissioning and handover planning in regulated environments
  • Construction methodology and site logistics planning

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced project environments
  • Confident in leading planning discussions with senior project teams

Desirable

  • Experience on semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical plants, or high-tech manufacturing facilities
  • Exposure to BIM coordination or 4D planning
  • NEC contract awareness and delay analysis experience
  • Relevant construction or engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
