Basic Qualifications

  • Active DoDSecret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and maintain it throughout the life span of the position
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or III certification within 120

Days (i.e., Security+, CASP, CISSP), and maintain it throughout the life span of the position

  • US Citizenship required for access to the work facility
  • Minimum of five years’ experience Cisco Networks or Juniper networking equipment, operating system functions, and security hardening
  • Currently have or ability to obtain CCNA/CCNP
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools
  • Motivated individual with the ability to learn and implement new technologies
  • Ability to move, rack, stack and install physical equipment by lifting up to 30 lbs.

Lockheed Martin Enterprise Operations (EO) is actively seeking an experienced network engineering professional to support our Space business area classified programs located in our Sunnyvale, California, US offices. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to designing, installing, configuring, securing, hardening, remediating, troubleshooting, testing, upgrading and decommissioning of network switches, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryptors, physical cabling, protected distribution systems (PDS), data center planning & racking, identity services engine, and software defined networking. Coordinating with fellow network engineers, program managers, information technology staff, information assurance staff, and program engineers are an essential part of the day-to-day responsibilities that ensures a successful synergy between program deliverables and the underlying classified network infrastructure.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance and continuous improvement of multiple classified regional, campus, building and program network environments. This network engineering professional will ensure that the Space networks and network systems are managed, controlled and compliant with the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF). This is a non-telecommuting position that requires you to be on-site and includes some regional travel, off-shift work and occasional weekend activities.

Desired Skills

Bachelor of Science degree from accredited University

  • Active DOD Top Secret clearance (investigation within 5 years)
  • Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or III certification (i.e., Security+, CASP, CISSP)
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting of IGP routing protocols such as OSPF or EIGRP
  • Experience working with L2 and L3 Multicast protocols
  • Experience with MPLS L2VPNs
  • Experience working with encryption technologies such as IPSec and MACSec
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting General Dynamics Taclanes
  • Network administration experience supporting United States Government classified environments
  • Experience in applying DISA STIGs and resolving security vulnerabilities
  • Fundamental understanding of the OSI model
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, NFS, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Telnet and SSH
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco switching technology, and port-channeling
  • Knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark)
  • Working knowledge of Cumulus Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Experience with network monitoring protocols that include SNMP and NetFlow
  • Currently have or ability to obtain CCNA/CCNP and Juniper Certifications
  • Have interest in developing automation processes with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, etc.
