Job Description

• For a client within the Flemish Government, we are looking for a senior Network & Security profile with clear experience in architecture and design, combined with a willingness to also take on hands-on operational work.
• You will be part of the Network & Security Team and play a key role in designing, improving and helping to implement the network and security landscape within a complex enterprise environment.

This role combines:

• architecture & design (±50%)
• hands-on engineering & troubleshooting (±50%)

Responsibilities

• Defining and developing network & security architectures (HLD/LLD)
• Drafting technical roadmaps and standards
• Leading and supporting data center projects and migrations
• Translating business and technical requirements into scalable solutions
• Reviewing and monitoring the quality of implementations
• Actively participating in operational support and complex troubleshooting (L3)
• Supporting critical incidents and problem analysis
• Coaching and supervising engineers within the team
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners

Technical requirements

• Strong experience (typically 8+ years) within network & security, with proven experience in architecture and design:
• Datacenter networking
• Cisco (Nexus, ACI)
• Security
• Palo Alto (NGFW, Prisma)
• Firewalling, VPN, segmentation, zero trust
• Load balancing
• Virtualization
• VMware NSX

Multi-vendor enterprise environments

Additional:

• Experience with network automation / CI/CD / scripting is a plus
• Experience with high availability and mission critical environments
• Experience with migration and transformation processes

Education & certifications

• Bachelor/Master IT or equivalent through experience
• Cisco certification (CCNP or higher)
• PCNSE and/or ACI certification are strong pluses
