Responsibilities Of Position
- Architect and engineer Windows Server environments and core enterprise infrastructure, defining build standards, hardening baselines, and high-availability designs
- Design and own Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity architecture including Entra ID, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and identity integrations. Set the standards for user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access controls
- Architect virtualization (VMware), enterprise storage (SAN), and backup/recovery solutions; lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and BC/DR design and testing
- Build and administer cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), including virtual machines, storage, networking, and RBAC. Engineer secure hybrid connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments
- Develop automation frameworks and tooling using PowerShell and APIs to standardize provisioning, configuration, patch management, and monitoring to improve operational efficiency and consistency across the environment
- Partner with the Security, Development, and Analytics teams to build and execute strategic roadmaps. Develop the technical vision for systems and security
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents. Lead root-cause analysis and drive problem management, change management, and operational improvements
- Create and own technical documentation, standards, policies, and guidelines
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and lead evaluation and purchase of hardware and software
- Mentor Systems Analysts and junior colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities Needed For Position
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Proficiency in virtualized technologies (VMware) and supporting infrastructure (SAN storage, enterprise backup)
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including routing, switching, and firewalls
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell and APIs
- Ability to estimate the financial impact of individual solution architecture alternatives and to provide accurate estimates for tasks and project activity
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor analysts and junior colleagues
- 7+ years of experience with the functional and technical aspects of IT infrastructure services and related solutions, capabilities, and technologies, including virtualization (VMware), SAN storage, and enterprise backup
- 3+ years of identity and access management (IAM) experience, including Entra ID, SSO, and MFA
- 3+ years of experience supporting or engineering cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) – preferred
- 3+ years of network management, firewall, and switching experience – preferred
- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate preferred
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate preferred
- Frequently lifting/carrying a max of 10 lbs
- Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
- Rarely lifting/carrying a max of 35 lbs
- Continuously working inside
- Occasionally working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
- Rarely working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
- Frequently sitting
- Occasionally standing/walking stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
- Ability to travel between offices, as required
- Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
- Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
