Pay Range: $45 to $55/hr on W2
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for supporting IT operations across multiple locations and cloud environments while ensuring reliable connectivity, network security, and optimal system performance. The ideal candidate has strong experience with enterprise networking technologies, cloud platforms, automation, and advanced troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN environments.
- Configure, manage, and optimize firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and access control policies.
- Monitor network health, analyze performance, and resolve complex connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Support cloud networking technologies within Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Automate network administration tasks using PowerShell and/or Python.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security best practices and maintain network documentation.
- Lead network hardware and software deployment projects, testing, and implementation activities.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure successful delivery of networking solutions and project milestones.
- Develop, maintain, and validate disaster recovery (DR) documentation and recovery procedures.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex networking issues and participate in an on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- TCP/IP
- BGP
- OSPF
- VLANs
- QoS
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cisco networking technologies
- Palo Alto firewalls
- Fortinet solutions
- Microsoft Azure networking
- Microsoft 365 networking services
- Experience with VPN technologies, routing, switching, wireless networking, and SD-WAN.
- Proficiency in network automation using PowerShell or Python.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and performance optimization skills.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network hardening, and threat mitigation.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and Agile environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
- Strong background with Cisco routing, switching, firewall technologies, and cloud networking.
- Comfortable managing complex network incidents and providing Tier 3 technical support.
- Experience leading infrastructure deployment and migration projects.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE, NSE, Microsoft Azure, VMware, or equivalent are highly preferred.
