Knackworks, a Jacobs Company, has an opening for a Network Engineer to support our government customer’s global enterprise networks.
Qualifications
- The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
- Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.
- Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
- Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
- Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN’s, Port Security, Thin Configs)
- Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS
- Experience with Visio.
- Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.
Required Clearance; TS/SCI CI
- Candidate must have 8 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 2 years, master’s and 3 years, bachelor’s and 4 years, associates and 6 years or HS diploma and 8 years. Additional required qualifications include Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Additional required qualifications include
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
The base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $115,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
