Job title: Deputy CIO of Networking

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Onsite

Salary: $175K/Annum

Type: Full time


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CIO to develop and implement networking strategies aligned with the organization’s overall IT roadmap.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and modernization of innovative networking solutions that meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in networking and network architecture.
  • Ensure networking operations support organizational goals, service delivery needs, security objectives, and long-term scalability.
  • Influence senior leadership and key stakeholders on networking priorities, investments, risks, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership across multiple large, cross-functional teams and projects.

Network Design & Architecture

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and cloud-based networking solutions.
  • Evaluate new networking technologies, tools, platforms, and systems to improve performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Plan and deploy network expansions, upgrades, replacements, and modernization initiatives to support growing business needs.
  • Develop enterprise network architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans.
  • Ensure network architecture supports availability, resiliency, security, and future-state technology requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Network systems certification, such as JNCIP, or measurable equivalent work experience totaling at least five (5) years.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Communications, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 10-15 years of infrastructure and data center experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience managing multiple large, cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 7 years of managerial or supervisory experience planning, developing, managing, or implementing a comparatively sized or larger data center environment.
  • Extensive experience with networking technologies and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, including LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud networking, and related enterprise technologies.
  • Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and modernizing large-scale network systems.
  • Experience ensuring network performance, security, scalability, uptime, and availability.
  • Experience with infrastructure operations, data center environments, and IT solution lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts.
  • Experience with networking and security principles, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with technology and application architecture.
  • Knowledge of computerized system validation strategies and standards.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and continuity of operations.
  • Experience with operating system management.
  • Experience with database technology.
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, negotiating with, and managing technology vendors.
  • Experience monitoring vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Experience managing budgets, cost analysis, forecasting, resource allocation, and financial reporting for technology initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, cybersecurity, and network security practices.
  • Ability to conduct or oversee security audits, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response activities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prepare and present reports, recommendations, risks, and budget justifications to senior leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and align networking solutions with organizational needs.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and implement innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency.
