About the Role

Our client in the Utilities sector is looking for an experienced F5 Network & Security Engineer to join its Datacom/IP Networks team.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization's F5 BIG-IP infrastructure, which is a critical component of its datacenter environment supporting application delivery, high availability, and security services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design load balancing and high-availability architectures.
• Design and implement F5 BIG-IP solutions for application delivery and traffic management.
• Configure and administer:
• Virtual Servers
• Pools
• Nodes
• Monitors
• iRules
• SSL Profiles
• Traffic Policies
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates, SSL offloading, encryption configuration, traffic inspection and reporting.
• Deploy and manage F5 Advanced Web Application Firewall (AWAF) policies.
• Integrate authentication and access management using F5 APM and enterprise identity services.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning and service optimization.
• Support incident, problem and change management activities.
• Manage security patching, software upgrades and lifecycle management of the F5 infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot application delivery, connectivity and performance issues.
• Produce technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge transfer activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, ICT, Telecommunications or equivalent experience.
• Strong conceptual, practical and operational knowledge of IP Networks in multi-site and datacenter environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing F5 BIG-IP solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of IT security concepts, architectures and implementations.
• Experience with firewall technologies such as Checkpoint and Palo Alto.
• Ability to work independently, methodically and accurately assess risks.
• Customer-oriented with the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Flexible and able to handle operational priorities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English (spoken and written).
