The Opportunity

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the design, planning, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the scalable IT infrastructure required to power enterprise applications and services for All State Fastener. Using an architecture designed to match technology to local and enterprise needs, leverage on-premises devices, co-location and Infrastructure-as-a-Service, or hybrid and public cloud capabilities. This role partners closely with logistics, supply chain, operations, and IT teams to ensure ASF’s infrastructure and connectivity align with business workflows, improve efficiency, and support scalable growth.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Manage a team

  • Manage a team of geographically dispersed IT infrastructure and integration professionals: deploying office infrastructure (laptops, printers, mobile devices), enterprise technology (mobile scanners, label printers and printing capabilities), and communications infrastructure (internet gateways, wide area and local area networks, VoIP telephony, EDI value-added networks), and an enterprise Service Desk operation to provide extended hours of daily support to the 4 time zones in North America.
  • Lead IT infrastructure operational planning and implementation to achieve business objectives, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems.

Maintain and Scale Infrastructure Operations

  • Closely monitor and review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, manage applicable IT budgets and productivity levels.

  • Monitor emerging technology developments and identify innovations with potential high payoffs for ASF, including Artificial Intelligence and cloud-based technologies. Make recommendations for new/altered technologies that would contribute to ASF cost savings and/or productivity improvements.
  • Align computer and data/voice systems technologies to complement and support ASF’s business/strategic plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a security program for the protection of systems hardware, software, and data. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to direct and carry out the objectives established by the security program.
  • Monitor and evaluate data security implemented; work to reduce all risks to corporate computer resources and investigate security breaches.

Program/Project Management

  • Perform project management and participate on project teams responsible for system hardware and office application software implementation and upgrades.
  • Determine project scope and resources required to complete projects, prepare project work plans and timelines.
  • Monitor project milestones and report project progress to management. Work closely with internal stakeholders, business partners and contacts from other businesses (if required) to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with relevant Site and IT stakeholders.
  • Issue technical bulletins to inform users of system changes.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Maintain close cooperation and communication with key infrastructure partners: cloud technologies, software companies, hardware vendors, and strategic consulting partners.
  • Evaluate and manage service contracts for computer and/or voice systems, including recommendations for renewals and cancellations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 4-5 years progressively responsible computer operations and networking management experience supporting Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance, software support, network design, cabling, communications, and hardware selection and installation.
