The Technical Specialist (Network Engineer) is responsible for the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise IT network infrastructure across all Thai Union locations, including corporate offices, data centers, and production sites globally.

Reporting to the Product Owner, Network and Connectivity, this role ensures that network services are secure, resilient, and aligned to the organization's business objectives. The incumbent will work primarily across LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking domains, and will actively contribute to network architecture decisions, infrastructure refresh programs, and technology standardization initiatives. The role also maintains a working awareness of OT network environments to support coordination between IT and plant operations teams where needed

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical depth in enterprise IT networking, combined with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure & Lifecycle

• Core Networking: Plan, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN/WLAN (routing, switching, APs) across corporate offices, data centers, and production sites.
• Traffic & Optimization: Manage SD-WAN solutions and define network segmentation strategies (VLANs, traffic isolation).
• Lifecycle Management: Lead hardware refresh programs, capacity upgrades, and End-of-Life (EoL) replacements.

Security & Compliance

• Controls: Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
• Compliance: Align network design with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and enforce least-privilege access (RBAC, Entra ID, RADIUS).
• Threat Response: Partner with cybersecurity and SOC teams to assess vulnerabilities and respond to security events.

Cloud & Hybrid Integration

• Multi-Cloud: Implement and support secure hybrid connectivity (VPN, private peering) across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Performance: Optimize cloud and WAN pathways to ensure low latency for critical apps (ERP, SaaS).

Operations & Asset Management

• Incident Response: Act as the L2/L3 escalation point to resolve network incidents within SLA targets.
• Monitoring: Proactively track network health using SNMP, NetFlow, and syslog tools to prevent bottlenecks.
• Vendor & Asset Tracking: Coordinate with ISPs/vendors and maintain an accurate, up-to-date CMDB inventory.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering or a similar technical role, with exposure to multi-site and multi-vendor environments.
• Experience with network infrastructure refresh projects, including vendor engagement, BoM development, and implementation coordination.
• Exposure to OT or industrial network environments (manufacturing, logistics) is an advantage, but not required
• Strong hands-on expertise in LAN and WLAN technologies: switching (VLANs, STP, LACP), routing (OSPF, BGP), and wireless (802.11ax/Wi-Fi 6).
• Proficiency with enterprise networking platforms such as Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent.
• Experience with SD-WAN platforms and WAN optimisation technologies.
• Working knowledge of cloud networking on one or more of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP-based NMS, NetFlow analyzers, syslog platforms).
• Understanding of Zero Trust architecture, SASE frameworks, and modern network security principles.
• Experience with IAM integration into network access control (RADIUS, 802.1X, Microsoft Entra).
