Location: Hybrid – Dallas, TX or Houston, TX (In Office Wednesday & Thursday)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior IP Engineer III to design, implement, support, and optimize carrier-grade IP/MPLS networks across core, edge, aggregation, and transport environments.

This role requires deep expertise in service provider networking, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience leading complex network migrations, architecture improvements, and operational escalations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a multi-vendor environment and collaborate across engineering and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support carrier-grade IP/MPLS networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, L2/L3 VPNs, RSVP-TE, and Segment Routing.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Perform capacity planning and network performance optimization.
• Resolve complex network issues and lead technical escalations.
• Develop technical documentation and operational standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call support.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in carrier/service provider networking.
• Strong expertise in:
• MPLS (LDP, RSVP-TE, L2/L3 VPNs)
• BGP, IS-IS, OSPF
• Carrier Ethernet
• Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco, Nokia, and Ciena.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale IP/MPLS backbone networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DWDM, ROADM, and optical transport.
• Network automation using Python, Ansible, NETCONF, YANG, or gNMI.
• Knowledge of EVPN, Segment Routing, DCI, and IPv6.
• Relevant certifications such as JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE Service Provider, Nokia NRS, or Ciena.

Technical Environment

• Multi-vendor network including Juniper, Cisco, Nokia, Ciena, ADTRAN, and Brocade.
• Carrier-grade IP/MPLS backbone supporting core, edge, and transport networks.
• Ongoing network modernization, migration, and integration projects.
