KBR is looking for talented individuals to join our PMC team to work on an exciting Offshore project as a Senior Telecom Engineer for a PMC project to be based in Abu Dhabi – UAE ( mostly in Client Office).
Job Summary
The Senior Telecom Engineer is responsible for the execution of telecommunications engineering activities for Offshore Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) projects within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, and Energy sectors. The role involves the development of telecom system designs, specifications, engineering deliverables, vendor coordination, and technical support throughout the FEED phase, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, and client specifications.
The incumbent shall provide technical leadership for all offshore telecommunications systems including radio communication, PAGA, telephone systems, CCTV, access control, data networks, LAN/WAN infrastructure, microwave links, fiber optic systems, and offshore communication networks.
Key Responsibilities
FEED Engineering & Design
- Perform telecom engineering activities during FEED and Concept Design phases for offshore facilities.
- Develop telecom design philosophies, basis of design, and system architecture documents.
- Prepare FEED deliverables including:
- Telecom Design Basis
- Telecom Philosophy
- Telecom System Block Diagrams
- Telecom Architecture Drawings
- Network Topology Diagrams
- Equipment Layouts
- Telecom Equipment Lists
- Material Requisitions and Specifications
- Define telecom system requirements based on project scope and client specifications.
- Review project inputs including P&IDs, plot plans, safety studies, hazardous area classifications, and electrical layouts.

- Conduct telecom coverage studies for offshore facilities.
- Perform radio propagation and network capacity analysis.
- Prepare fiber optic link budgets and communication system calculations.
- Support SIL, HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews.
- Ensure telecom systems comply with offshore operational and safety requirements.
- Prepare Technical Requisitions (MR/TBE/RFQ packages).
- Review vendor proposals and technical submissions.
- Conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
- Participate in vendor clarification meetings.
- Review and approve vendor documents and drawings.
- Ensure vendor compliance with project specifications and standards.

- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of telecom engineering experience.
- At least 5+ years of experience in Offshore Oil & Gas FEED and EPC projects.
- Proven experience working on offshore platforms, FPSOs, offshore substations, or petrochemical facilities.
