Tokyo Electron U.S. Holdings Inc. - Systems Engineer

Location: Onsite in Albany, NY (5 days a week around core business hours Monday - Friday)

Compensation: 110k-165k

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Equipment ect.

Structure: Multi-year ongoing W2 contract (options to extend or convert)


Position Summary

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and support of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, backup, and Microsoft platforms. This role supports highly available on-premises and hybrid cloud environments while ensuring reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert for compute, virtualization, backup, monitoring, and Microsoft infrastructure technologies, providing operational support, technical guidance, and engineering input for infrastructure initiatives while partnering with Architecture, Security, Application, and Global IT teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, maintain, and support Cisco HyperFlex and Cisco UCS infrastructure.
  • Administer VMware vSphere and ESXi environments supporting critical enterprise workloads.
  • Administer Microsoft infrastructure services including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, MECM, and SCOM.
  • Manage enterprise backup, recovery, replication, archive, and disaster recovery solutions utilizing Cohesity.
  • Administer and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments, including image management, application delivery, upgrades, and performance optimization.
  • Support Microsoft Azure services and hybrid cloud infrastructure initiatives.
  • Perform infrastructure lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and technology refresh activities.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and availability while troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Provide technical recommendations and engineering input for infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Network, Application, and Global IT teams to implement infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Lead or participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, service providers, and international IT teams as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for production systems and maintenance activities.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft server and infrastructure technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, or equivalent enterprise virtualization platforms.
  • Experience administering Cisco HyperFlex, Cisco UCS platforms or equivalent converged or hyperconverged infrastructures.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and related infrastructure services.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms, preferably Cohesity.
  • Experience with MECM and SCOM or equivalent systems management and monitoring platforms.
  • Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
  • Strong understanding of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience performing infrastructure planning, implementation, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative global team environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including travel to Japan as required.
  • Ability to participate in on-call support for production systems.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications related to Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, MECM, SCOM, or infrastructure administration.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification.
  • CCNA or equivalent network certification.
  • Cohesity certification or equivalent enterprise backup experience.
  • Citrix certification or advanced experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience working in global organizations with international IT teams.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments, preferably within the semiconductor industry.
  • Project management experience or PMP certification.
  • Understanding of application, database, and system architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with integrating on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and hosted business systems.
  • Japanese language skills are a plus.
