Hands On Systems Administration
We are a growing Managed Services Provider hiring a Systems Administrator to support small and mid sized business client environments across the Greater Philadelphia region.
This role is a strong fit for someone with MSP experience who enjoys hands on technical work across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, backups, firewalls, and infrastructure support. You will help keep client environments stable, documented, secure, and aligned with technical standards.
The position also offers long term growth toward vCIO responsibilities for someone who wants to build stronger client advisory skills over time.
What You Will Handle
- Configure, support, and maintain Windows Server environments across multiple client networks.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file shares, permissions, and Windows 10/11.
- Perform network administration across switches, wireless access points, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN, and core connectivity.
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, security appliances, VPNs, and related network policies.
- Resolve Tier 2 support issues involving servers, networks, workstations, cloud services, printers, and peripherals.
- Perform proactive checks across client environments to identify risks, gaps, and recurring technical issues.
- Support endpoint security tools, backup platforms, and disaster recovery systems.
- Assist with onsite technical support, infrastructure configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with service desk, project engineers, cybersecurity teams, and vCIO resources to address technical issues.
- Document systems, configurations, credentials, processes, risks, and resolutions accurately.
The Experience That Matters
- 2+ years of MSP experience.
- Hands on experience configuring and supporting Windows Server environments.
- Strong Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, and permissions administration experience.
- Experience performing network administration across switches, wireless, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and LAN/WAN environments.
- Firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft environments, networking equipment, security appliances, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently during onsite visits while following established processes.
- Experience with IT Glue or a similar documentation platform.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and follow through.
- Professional communication skills with clients and internal technical teams.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the Philadelphia region.
Helpful Experience
- Experience with ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya, or similar PSA and RMM platforms.
- PowerShell or basic automation knowledge.
- macOS support experience.
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or related technical certifications.
- Experience supporting backup, disaster recovery, endpoint security, or cybersecurity tools.
