Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide comprehensive engineering and day-to-day operational support for the physical RDT&E/SRDT&E network environment, including hardware/software installation, firmware upgrades, STIG compliance, and performance enhancements for network routers and switches.
- Monitor and analyze network performance at both the physical and Internet Protocol (IP) packet levels utilizing enterprise network management tools, to include inMON Traffic Sentinel and Zabbix.
- Provide on-call support to respond to and resolve network outages during non-business hours (after-hours, weekends, or holidays), with a requirement to be on-site within two (2) hours of notification.
- Establish and maintain robust connectivity to multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure0 by managing IP space, VLANs, route tables, Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), and virtual gateways.
- Establish and maintain Virtual Private Gateways, Virtual Gateways, and/or Azure Gateway Virtual Network Peering to establish connectivity between the RDT&E network and Cloud platforms, monitoring and troubleshooting connectivity, bandwidth, and latency issues in coordination with cloud customers and NRDE Cloud Engineers.
- Establish network infrastructure test environments, conduct test case reviews and assessments, execute tests, and report results.
- Establish and maintain a corrective action system to record and track identified problems, coordinate with vendors to resolve issues found during testing, and conduct regression tests to verify corrections.
- Prototype, install, and maintain configurations of hardware infrastructure for routing and distribution, as well as Firewall and Boundary routing, with a focus on systems including HPE Aruba and Palo Alto.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot internal and external routing protocols (such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)) and secure tunneling mechanisms (such as Internet Protocol Security (IPsec)).
- Implement and manage Network Access Control (NAC) systems and security protocols, including Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, 802.1x Authentication, and Zero-Trust architectures such as dynamic segmentation.
- Install and maintain the RDT&E / NIWC Pacific wireless network infrastructure, enabling both in-building and outside coverage.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience; senior-level role with independent and collaborative responsibilities.
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools such as inMON Traffic Sentinel and Zabbix.
- Proficiency with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, particularly Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager.
- Experience implementing Zero-Trust network architectures (e.g., dynamic segmentation).
- Familiarity with enterprise wireless network infrastructure.
- Scripting skills for network automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
