Are you passionate about technology, problem-solving, and keeping critical systems running? The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking for an Information Technology Associate to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. In this role, you'll help support enterprise systems that serve millions of Californians while working alongside experienced IT professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Whether you're monitoring enterprise applications, responding to incidents, or helping implement new technologies, you'll play an important role in maintaining reliable and secure IT services.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor enterprise systems and respond to operational alerts to ensure system availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving enterprise applications, network connectivity, identity services, cloud platforms, and server environments.
- Provide technical support to end users while meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Document incidents, resolutions, and system procedures using ServiceNow or other IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
- Assist with system maintenance, software deployments, patching activities, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business partners to resolve incidents and support enterprise infrastructure.
- Participate in IT projects by assisting with implementation, testing, and ongoing operational support.
- Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and runbooks.
- Support vendor coordination, procurement activities, and contract renewals when needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer service.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar IT operations environment.
- Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, BigPanda, Nagios, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing concepts.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications, cloud environments, identity management, servers, or network connectivity.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or another ITSM ticketing system.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize multiple incidents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support.
- A willingness to learn emerging technologies and continuously expand technical knowledge.
