Plixer specialized in helping organizations find the cause of network slowness and detect threats using network flow data. This role exists to make sure that happens.

As a Field Engineer, you work directly with customers after the sale. You help them understand what they’re seeing, run training sessions, and make sure the product becomes part of how they operate.

You also support Account Managers during deals when technical validation matters.

If this role is done well, customers adopt the product, expand their usage, and stay.


What You’ll Do
  • Run customer training sessions that turn new users into confident operators
  • Lead regular health checks to review usage, gaps, and next steps
  • Deliver live demos that connect network issues to real outcomes
  • Support Account Managers with technical validation during active deals
  • Translate customer feedback into clear, actionable product input
  • Help customers move from “we installed it” to “we rely on it”
What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 6–12 months, you will:
  • Run demos, training sessions, and health checks independently
  • Build trusted relationships with assigned customers
  • Help customers adopt the product into daily workflows
  • Reduce churn risk by driving consistent usage and value
  • Support Account Manager’s with customer growth
What You BringRequired
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
  • Comfort working in Linux environments
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences
Nice to Have
  • Experience with flow technologies (NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow)
  • Exposure to network tools or workflows (NPM, NDR, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tools like Scrutinizer, or similar
  • Scripting or automation experience

  • Work from Home & Self-directed, you manage your time and priorities without constant oversight
  • Organized, you can handle multiple customers without losing context
  • Flexible, you can switch between training, demos, and customer conversations
  • Comfortable repeating and refining training sessions across different audiences

  • You will own outcomes without always having direct control
Travel
  • Occasional travel, estimated 1–2 trips per quarter
  • Includes tradeshows and customer onsite visits
Team and Structure
  • Reports to Manager of Solutions Engineering
  • Works alongside Sales and Support Engineers
  • Supporting Account Managers
  • Small, growing team with high visibility and impact
