About the Company

NextGen is seeking a Network Services Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunications services and equipment for residential and small business customers.



About the Rol

eThis is a hands-on field position supporting telephone, video, broadband, fiber, copper, DSL, FTTH, cable TV, and Wi-Fi services. The technician will work independently in the field, interact directly with customers, and participate in an on-call rotation after training


.
Responsibiliti

  • esInstall and repair telephone, video, broadband, and special services in fiber and copper plant environment
  • s.Install, troubleshoot, and repair copper twisted-pair telephone plant and cable TV plan
  • t.Install FTTH services and configure Wi-Fi equipment at customer premise
  • s.Install fiber and copper enclosures and inside wiring according to company specification
  • s.Troubleshoot DSL, cable internet, Wi-Fi, fiber, and copper service issue
  • s.Locate faults in network facilities and restore service during outages or interruption
  • s.Use test equipment and record readings, including OTDR, TDR, and related diagnostic equipmen
  • t.Perform fiber splicing using fiber-splicing machine
  • s.Provide professional customer service in homes and small businesse
  • s.Maintain vehicles, tools, supplies, and equipment in a neat and organized manne
  • r.Work with contractors and other departments as neede
  • d.Perform other duties assigned by the Director or Manager of Network Service

Qualificati

  • onsExperience with copper twisted-pair telephone plant installation, troubleshooting, or repa
  • ir.Experience with cable TV plant installation, troubleshooting, or repa
  • ir.Networking knowledge involving DSL, cable internet, FTTH, FTTx, or Wi-
  • Fi.Understanding of basic low-voltage wiring in residential or small business environmen
  • ts.Familiarity with 802.11 wireless networki
  • ng.Ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues logical
  • ly.Strong verbal communication and customer service skil
  • ls.Ability to work safely, efficiently, and under pressu
  • re.Knowledge of fiber and copper color codes and identificati
  • on.Associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experien
  • ce.Fiber-splicing experience is preferred but not required. Training may be provided to motivated candidates with a strong technical foundation and willingness to lea
