Assistant Technician

The Assistant Technician supports the installation, service, and maintenance of low-voltage systems, including access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and structured cabling. This role works alongside experienced technicians while developing technical skills and industry knowledge.

Skills And Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems.
• Install and support structured cabling infrastructure.
• Complete site surveys and assist with project documentation.
• Organize and track project materials, tools, and equipment.
• Travel to customer and project sites as needed.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
• Continuously develop knowledge of access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with structured cabling or low-voltage systems preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and project documentation.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the low-voltage industry.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on ladders and elevated surfaces.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, and use of power tools.
• Ability to work in both new construction and occupied building environments.
