Title: Network Operations Engineer
Duration: 6-12+ month contract - extendable
Location: onsite in NYC 5 days a week
The role requires practical experience with Cisco's product line along with familiarity with SolarWinds for network visibility and management.
What we're looking for:
- A four-year degree in a technical field, plus 6-8 years of hands-on work supporting Cisco-based network infrastructure
- Experience supporting Cisco Nexus and Catalyst (switching and routing), BGP-based EVPN and Cisco NDFC, BGP-based internet edge configurations, SD-WAN, Cisco and Meraki wireless, SolarWinds NPM/NCM
- Understanding of networking— routing, switching, ACLs, 802.1x, VoIP, VXLAN — along with experience using performance/monitoring tooling
- Some exposure to ITSM and project-tracking platforms (ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar)
- Strong independent troubleshooting and analytical ability
- Comfort working in a lean team, adapting quickly, and openly sharing what you know to help the team grow
- Openness to adapting as tools and requirements shift
- A plus, not a requirement: Cisco certifications and hands-on time with Cisco DCNM/NDFC
