Technology Systems Designer

BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.

BR+A is seeking a Technology Systems Designer for our Miami, FL office. This position’s responsibilities include:

• Providing Engineering, Design work, and drafting of plans
• Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
• Sketches, rough layouts to review with project engineer or Project Manager
• Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
• Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
• Meeting with vendors to determine spatial requirements for application of the product
• Coordinating with other disciplines and the architect
• Attending meetings as required, working to submit the required documentation per project deadlines
• Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
• Developing strategy to meet project schedule
• Assisting in development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
• Assisting design team on major design issues
• Organizing required technical correspondence, emails and calculations
• Performing field work and verification of existing conditions

Required Experience And Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
• Qualified experience using Autodesk Revit design software
• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing Information and Communications Technology systems (Data Networks, cDAS, Nurse Call, Electronic Security, Paging, Wireless, etc.)
