Role Description The Information Technology Support Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Wallingford, CT. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support for desktop computers, printers, and related hardware and software used by CST’s clients. The technician will respond to help desk tickets, diagnose and resolve technical issues, perform basic repairs, and escalate complex problems when necessary. Daily activities include installing and configuring devices, assisting users with troubleshooting, documenting work performed, and following established procedures and service-level expectations. The technician will collaborate with other team members to ensure reliable IT operations and a positive support experience for end users.
Qualifications
- Strong technical support skills, including end-user assistance and ticket management.
- Hands-on experience with desktop computers, operating systems, and common business applications.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues and identifying root causes.
- Ability to support and maintain printers and related peripherals.
- Basic computer repair skills, such as component replacement and system configuration.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work on-site, prioritize multiple tasks, and follow standardized processes.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) or equivalent experience are preferred.
- Experience in a managed services, help desk, or MSP environment is a plus.
