What You'll Do
- Architecture & Design: Design, implement, and evolve scalable FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) architectures and broadband backbone network infrastructure.
- Technology & Infrastructure: Lead the deployment, optimization, and scaling of XGS-PON technologies, routing, transport, and peering environments.
- Product Improvement & Research: Evaluate emerging industry trends and technologies; conduct technical research to drive continuous product improvements and network lifecycle enhancements.
- Vendor Management: Partner closely with hardware, software, and technology vendors to evaluate equipment, manage roadmaps, negotiate technical specifications, and ensure successful platform integration.
- Advanced Escalation: Provide Tier 3 escalation support for critical network, XGS-PON, and backbone performance issues.
- Standards & Testing: Perform testing, validation, and proof-of-concept benchmarks for new hardware, platforms, and configurations. Develop robust network standards, engineering templates, and operational best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations, and the NOC to support network growth, reliability, and service delivery.
- Leadership: Mentor engineers and provide advanced technical leadership across the organization.
- Operations Support: Support maintenance windows, limited on-call activities, and operational escalations as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or ISP operations.
- Core Technical Expertise: Strong expertise with XGS-PON/FTTH technologies, BGP, MPLS, OSPF/IS-IS, IPv6, and NAT/CG-NAT (with a working knowledge of VPN and transport technologies).
- ISP Frameworks: Deep experience with broadband service provider networks, access architectures, and core backbone infrastructure.
- Platform Knowledge: Hands-on knowledge of routing, switching, fiber transport, peering, and subscriber management technologies across platforms such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, or similar.
- Business & Vendor Acumen: Proven experience participating in vendor evaluation, management, and driving technical requirements with external partners.
- Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and documentation skills, with the ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from research to deployment.
- Certifications: Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS/JNCIP, or relevant broadband/optical certifications are a plus.
