Job Summary

Security 101 is now recruiting for a Commercial Security Service Technician in the Philadelphia Metro Area that has 4+ years of strong experience servicing commercial and enterprise electronic security systems as related to card access technology, video management systems and IP networking skills with certifications or high proficiency working with enterprise software.


Salary

Starting hourly wage ranges from $35.00 to $45.00, non-exempt, commensurate with skills, product knowledge and experience.

Skills/Abilities

  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience servicing and programming commercial access control, IP-based video systems and intrusion alarm systems.
  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in troubleshooting networked access control and IP video systems, including working on the customer’s network.
  • Alternative experience such as a multi-site Network Support Specialist or similar.
  • Ability to support customer systems via remote diagnostics with professionalism.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the internet and networking is essential.
  • Must be able to work independently and resolve problems to our customers.
  • Must possess a valid driving license and clean MVR.


Current certification or proficiency in one of the following is a plus:

  • Access Control: ProWatch, Gallagher, Ccure 9000, Lenel/S2, Genetec,
  • Video: Genetec, Avigilon, Hanwha, Exacq,Axis. Milestone, IPConfigure
  • Locking Hardware: Mechanical/Electromechanical, Assa Abloy, Schlage, Von Duprin, etc.


Responsibilities

Servicing, troubleshooting, programming, and testing enterprise class security systems with minimal supervision. System knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion, and visitor management is a must.

  • Working knowledge that includes the ability to set up and perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on a LAN – familiar with tools like “WireShark” and other network scanning tools. A-PLUS!
  • Familiarization and working knowledge of integrating systems through the use of a manufacturer’s Software Development Kit (SDK) or API. A-PLUS![RH1]
  • Troubleshooting and programming networked IP video systems.
  • Troubleshooting and programming networked access control devices.
  • Servicing commercial intrusion alarm systems and other IoT connected systems.
  • Providing fanatical customer service when dealing with customers.


Education

  • High School (or GED) minimum requirement
  • Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications (preferred)


Security 101 is a DFWP and EOE organization with a team-oriented work environment. Must have a clean driving record; pass a background investigation and a drug-test screening. Must also be able to work in both office and outside environments, climb a ladder, use a forklift, and carry boxes weighing 50lbs.
