This is a hands-on operational role suited to an IT professional who can balance user support with technical discipline, system administration, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and IT governance. The role is particularly important in a multi-site environment where business continuity, speed of issue resolution, and standardisation across locations are critical.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day IT Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for all internal IT support requests (helpdesk, troubleshooting, escalation).
- Set up, configure, and maintain employee laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across all platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Monitor and maintain the company's network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Ensure reliable internet connectivity and VPN access for all staff.
- Maintain server environments (physical or cloud-based) and ensure regular backups are in place and tested.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies including antivirus, patch management, and data protection.
- Monitor for security threats and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure all software licenses are current and compliant. Systems & Software Management
- Manage and update software deployments and internal tools.
- Document IT processes, asset inventory, and system configurations. Projects & Improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve IT efficiency and reduce friction for the team.
- Support the rollout of new tools, systems, or infrastructure upgrades.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hardware, software, printers, networking, Microsoft 365, and user support processes.
- Strong problem-solving ability, willingness to learn, and a service-oriented attitude.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Prior internship, academic project, or entry-level IT support exposure is an advantage, but not essential.
