We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our IT Division as a Network Administrator (Telecommunications Specialist). This role handles the administration of the networks for two data centers, our Home Office campus, and branch offices. A bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field with a focus in Networking Systems or equivalent experience is required.
Responsibilities include
- Troubleshooting any network equipment or connection issues (Routers, Layer 2 and 3 switches, WAN acceleration devices, firewalls, etc)
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing network equipment upgrades
- Being the point of contact for contracted companies that are servicing our remote branches
- Ability to convey ideas to multiple audiences
- Provide proposals and recommendations for network enhancements
- Occasional maintenance or upgrades that fall outside of normal business hours are required
- Administration of voice systems
- Experience with any of the following:
- IOS
- NX-OS
- Dynamic Routing Protocols (including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP)
- Data Center knowledge (including VDC, VPC, Port-Channeling, HSRP, Spanning Tree, etc.)
- VoIP Phone System (PRI, SIP, CUBE)
- Communications Collaboration Product Suites (Voicemail, Instant Messaging)
- Firewalls, including IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) and IDS (Intrusion Detection System)
- WAN (Wide Area Network) acceleration devices
- TACACS (Terminal Access Controller Access Control System)
- NAC (Network Access Control)
- Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
- Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
- Network administration certifications or equivalent work experience is strongly preferred
- Great customer service skills
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Self-motivating individual with a proven history of growing technical skills
