About the Company
A global technology services provider is seeking a Network Operations Engineer in Singapore to support one of the world's largest hyperscale network environments, operating across large-scale IP and Optical infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to join a specialist operations team responsible for maintaining and supporting critical network services across backbone and data centre environments. Supporting infrastructure at true hyperscale, you'll work on one of the world's most advanced global networks, combining IP routing platforms with high-capacity optical transport to deliver resilient, high-performance connectivity at massive scale.
This role is well suited to a Network Engineer looking to deepen their exposure across IP and Optical networking within a structured, non-shift environment while gaining experience supporting world-class hyperscale infrastructure.
About the Role
As part of the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network performance across IP and Optical layers. You will play a key role in ensuring network availability, resolving incidents, and supporting the delivery of reliable, high-capacity connectivity across the infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support network infrastructure across IP and Optical domains
- Troubleshoot faults across IP routing and optical transport networks (DWDM)
- Perform structured fault isolation across physical and logical network layers
- Manage incidents in line with SLAs, ensuring timely resolution and communication
- Escalate issues to engineering and vendor teams where required
- Support provisioning activities, including circuit turn-up, testing, and validation
- Maintain accurate documentation across incidents, changes, and configurations
- Contribute to continuous improvement across monitoring, tooling, and processes
Qualifications:
- Experience within a Network Operations Centre or large-scale network environment
- Strong understanding of IP networking concepts (e.g. BGP, MPLS, backbone networks)
- Exposure to optical networking technologies (e.g. DWDM, transport networks, fibre infrastructure)
- Hands-on experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or optical platforms
- Experience using monitoring and ticketing systems in an operations environment
- Ability to troubleshoot across multiple layers of the network stack
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Required Skills:
- Experience within a Network Operations Centre or large-scale network environment
- Strong understanding of IP networking concepts (e.g. BGP, MPLS, backbone networks)
- Exposure to optical networking technologies (e.g. DWDM, transport networks, fibre infrastructure)
- Hands-on experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or optical platforms
- Experience using monitoring and ticketing systems in an operations environment
- Ability to troubleshoot across multiple layers of the network stack
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent
- Experience within telecom, ISP, or service provider environments
- Exposure to optical vendors (e.g. Ciena, Nokia, Huawei)
- Understanding of circuit provisioning, cross-connects, or backbone connectivity
