Bridge351 is looking for a Network Engineer to join a strategic project for the European External Action Service (EEAS)
Nature of Tasks
- Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Designing and implementing new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment.
- Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
- Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources.
- Supporting PKI implementation and use.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support.
- Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres.
- Assist with evaluating and testing products delivered by other teams to ensure that they conform to the requirements and methodology.
- Assists the Solution Architect in the architecture design and definition.
- Writes documentation related to design, installation, configurations of system parts related.
- Defining and documenting standard operating procedures.
- Works with Management team to manage expectations, deliverables, and satisfaction.
Role and responsibilities
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering in large and complex projects providing solution design services in line with organizational objectives and business requirements.
- At least one certification in technology related domain: CISCO, ...
- Expertise in local area protocols.
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP Data Networks (including CWDM, QOS)
- Excellent knowledge of network protocols.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP Voice Networks (including QOS, POE, …).
- Very good knowledge of Ethernet switching and routing.
- Excellent knowledge of operating systems.
- Very good knowledge of network management, monitoring and debugging tools.
- Good knowledge of proxy servers.
- Ability to provide in depth as well as high-level technical presentations for different technical level stakeholders.
- Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task between EEAS, vendors, peers, and management while showing the ability to independently resolve complex issues.
- Strong knowledge of IT technical engineering to perform tasks and interact with the other engineer specialists
- Basic knowledge of application layer XML filters.
- Good knowledge of Bandwidth Management.
- Very good knowledge of application Switches, load balancing and redundancy solutions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in highly available environments with multiple site support (Business continuity and disaster recovery planning technics, technologies, exercising and testing).
- Excellent analysis and problem solving.
- Prioritizing incidents, requests, and changes.
- Very good technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- At least 7+ years of experience in Linux Administration; experience with automation is a plus.
