KBC Group provides banking services in 5 European countries.

The international IT solutions of the banking group, covering several European countries, takes place with Hungarian and Belgian colleagues in Hungary and Belgium, therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams.

Our responsibilities range from day-to-day operation to application development and its operation.

We are constantly expanding the Hungarian side of the team, which is why we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated new team members with junior, medior or possibly senior work experience.

What the team is doing:

For a digital leader like KBC, it is crucial that our data centers run smoothly and safely. Around the clock. Both our customers and our employees count on this. As a Network Engineer you play an important role in this.

The Team's tasks & responsibilities:

We have data centers in Hungary and Belgium. An international team of experts ensures that these four data centers work optimally every day:

  • The Group Datacenter Network Team focuses on switching & routing, Cisco ACI, DDI and Network Utility Services.
  • The Group Datacenter Network Security Team deals with datacenter firewalling and perimeter security.
  • The Group Datacenter Application delivery team takes care of load balancing, secure web gateways and anti-DDoS .

Because these teams work closely together, you come into contact with all these aspects.

What your job will be:

As a senior network engineer with relevant experience in tracing of complex network flows (capture and analyze) your focus will be on network utility services and overall switching/routing. Next to that you contribute to the daily management of KBC’s datacenter networks, and you will be involved in numerous projects. This way you can immediately use your expertise and you can quickly deepen it further.

Together with your internal customers, IT architects and system engineers from other teams, you play an important role in infrastructure and security projects. Your contribution ranges from analysis and design to implementation and testing.

You are involved in the day-to-day management of various telecommunication and security components. Think of setup, configuration, capacity management, following up on new versions or functionalities, resolving security risks or integrating components into our current infrastructure.

You will explore new technological possibilities. Is there an opportunity to improve or automate the way we work? You’ve spotted it.

You analyze problems so that incidents are solved and we continuously improve our domain.

Together with your colleagues, you work in a rotational role to provide support outside office hours.

As the senior engineer that you are, soon you take on more responsibility, for example more coordinating tasks.

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in IT or a number of years of relevant experience.
  • You like to analyze and take responsibility.
  • Organize your own work efficiently, even if a priority suddenly changes.
  • Work together with others and you can delegate.
  • You communicate clearly and diplomatically in English.
  • You focus on the result and help others.
  • As a senior engineer you lead by example and you have impeccable work ethics.
  • Network administration and engineering in datacenter context on enterprise level.
  • Network visibility tooling (FlowMon, LiveNX, Gigamon probing, NetScout nGeniusONE network monitoring, etc.)
  • Application and Performance Analysis.
  • Basic understanding of development and scripting: Github, Bitbucket, Ansible, Python.
  • Firewalling, load balancing, DMZ setup, DDoS protection
  • Authentication and authorization mechanisms and frameworks
  • Cisco ACI, DDI, DWDM, WAN.
