IT Refurb & Resale Technician — Colorado Springs, CO

Trace takes in retired IT gear from businesses nationwide, traces every serial number through wipe/destroy/refurb, and resells what still has life left. That resale revenue is literally what funds our free pickups — so this role isn't a back-office afterthought, it's the engine.

We're looking for a young, energetic, playful nerd who actually likes taking things apart, figuring out what they're worth, and putting them back together right.

What you'll do:

• Receive and inventory incoming equipment (laptops, desktops, servers, networking gear) — serial by serial
• Test and diagnose hardware: what works, what's worth fixing, what's scrap
• Grade and categorize condition for resale (cosmetic grading, spec verification, functional testing)
• Support the data-wipe pipeline — verifying drives are clean before gear moves downstream
• Prep items for listing: cleaning, photos, spec sheets, pricing tier
• Pack and ship sold/refurbished units
• Keep the trace intact — every item's status gets logged, no exceptions

You're a fit if you:

• Know your way around a motherboard, RAM slots, and a BIOS menu without Googling every step
• Are detail-oriented enough to not lose track of a serial number in a pile of 200 laptops
• Can lift and move boxes of equipment (this is a hands-on, on-your-feet role)
• Bring genuine curiosity/enthusiasm about hardware — self-taught tinkerers welcome
• Are comfortable with basic inventory software / spreadsheets

Nice to have (not required):

• Experience reselling on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or similar
• A+ or similar IT cert
• Warehouse or electronics repair experience
