Job Title: Technical Support Specialist – Information Technology (IT)

Location: 5403 Crowchild Trail NW, Unit 108, Calgary, AB T3A 2G8 (On-site)

Salary: $36.00 per hour

Hours: 32 hours per week

Work Term: Permanent, Full-time

Shift: Day, Evening

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma (from a program of 1 year to 2 years) in Computer Science, Computer technology/systems, or Computer installation and repair; OR equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field.

Supervision & Leadership:

• Supervise 1 to 2 people (other technical support workers in this group).

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Respond to users experiencing difficulties with computers.
• Provide business systems, network and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties.
• Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software.

Computer and Technology Knowledge: Android, iOS, MAC, Device drivers, Networking software, Networking hardware, Servers, Desktop applications, File management software, Security software, MS Active Directory, MS Windows, TCP/IP, Wireless networks.

Area of Specialization: E-commerce

• Manual dexterity; Attention to detail; Ability to distinguish between colours.
• Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.

• Valid driver's licence required. (Public transportation is available; travel expenses/relocation costs not covered by employer).
