Maintenance & Technical Tasks
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom systems, including telephone, CCTV, PIS, intercom, fire detection, and clock systems.
- Respond to faults promptly and carry out emergency repairs to minimize service interruptions.
- Install, test, and commission telecom equipment and ensure systems are functioning properly.
- Perform safety checks and diagnostic tests on telecom and networking hardware.
- Use test equipment and tools to calibrate, diagnose, and repair faults in telecom devices.
- Assist telecom supervisors in daily activities and minor modifications across all Line 3 sites.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure maintenance plans are executed accurately and safely.
- Ensure telecom maintenance activities are documented and reported precisely to management.
- Maintain inventory of telecom spare parts and order required supplies.
- Ensure tools and testing equipment are in good working condition and safely stored.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in working and storage areas.
- Adhere to appliance standards, safety protocols, and Health and Safety regulations.
- Monitor for environmental and safety hazards and report incidents to Executive Maintenance.
- Support compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies regarding telecom operations.
- Accurately report tasks, issues, and maintenance activities to relevant stakeholders.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs when required.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend any safety-related meetings or briefings as
- required within the job role.
- Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System.
- Be mindful that Safety, Security, and Environmental protection are everyone’s responsibility.
- All staff members are accountable for reporting and intervening in any Safety, Security, or Environmental violations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of telecom/light current systems (e.g., CCTV, PIS, intercom, fire alarms, radio).
- Basic networking knowledge and experience working with structured cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, layouts, and blueprints.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in telecom or electronic system maintenance, preferably in a railway or infrastructure environment.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of telecom systems.
