Medior Network Engineer

We are looking for a Medior Network Engineer to join a newly expanding international network team in a mission-critical, hybrid infrastructure environment.

You will work across on-premise, virtualized and cloud-connected network systems, supporting several European locations as part of a growing global team.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and support enterprise network environments across on-premise, virtualized and hybrid infrastructure
• Work with Cisco and Fortinet / FortiGate based network and firewall solutions
• Support network availability, performance, security and standard configuration changes
• Handle 2nd level network incidents, troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Support firewall rules, NAT policies, routing, switching, VLANs and secure traffic flows
• Participate in network modernization, standardization and automation initiatives
• Collaborate with international network, infrastructure and platform teams
• Take part in standby duty based on a pre-agreed team calendar
• Participate in EU travel when needed, mainly within the regional cluster

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in network operations or network engineering
• Strong practical experience with Cisco technologies
• Experience with Fortinet / FortiGate firewall environments
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, firewalls and load balancing basics
• Experience in hybrid or enterprise infrastructure environments
• Openness to cloud networking and virtualization-related topics
• Incident management mindset and willingness to work in a hands-on, growing team setup
• Experience with ticketing / ITSM processes is an advantage
• Fluent English communication skills
• Hungarian knowledge is an advantage, but foreign candidates already living in Hungary are also welcome
• Willingness to travel within the EU approx. 10–20%

• CCNA, Fortinet or similar certification
• Azure or AWS networking experience
• Basic Kubernetes networking knowledge
• Experience with Jira, Git-based workflows or IaC tools such as Terraform / Bicep / CloudFormation
• Experience in standardized, centrally managed network environments
