About The Job
As a Network Engineer at Telavox, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating our core network infrastructure. This includes everything from data center networking and edge PoPs to cloud-native integrations and infrastructure automation. You’ll work with a team of experienced engineers who embrace a DevOps mindset and operate with autonomy, quality, and agility.
Your Day-to-day Work May Include
- Designing and implementing scalable and future-proof network solutions, both on-prem and across distributed global environments.
- Automating configuration, monitoring, and provisioning using tools like Ansible, Python, and Bash.
- Expanding and maintaining our international edge network of PoP sites.
- Managing our hybrid infrastructure and private cloud with Kubernetes networking at the core.
- Supporting the development of our infrastructure APIs to enable self-service for product teams.
- Ensuring high availability and performance through technologies like OSPF, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, and WireGuard/IPsec.
- Collaborating across product and platform teams to turn complex requirements into practical, robust infrastructure.
Key Skills And Experience We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale, production-grade network environments.
- Proficiency with Linux networking and data center infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with hypervisor- and container-based workloads.
- Familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), tunneling (VXLAN, EVPN), and secure networking (WireGuard, IPsec).
- Comfortable with automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, Bash).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Observium, Netbox, Icinga, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset—you enjoy sharing your knowledge and working across team boundaries.
- Experience with Juniper, VPP, and FRR
- Network or cloud certifications (JNCIE, CCNP, AWS, etc.)
- Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes clusters, especially on-prem
