24x7 NOC Engineer | Near Bristol

I'm recruiting 24x7 NOC Engineers for an AI infrastructure company that develops, owns and operates renewable-powered data centres across the UK, converting legacy industrial and energy sites into modern, scalable compute capacity.

This isn't a NOC seat where you're babysitting the same enterprise dashboards on autopilot. You'd be the first point of technical response for GPU infrastructure powering AI workloads for healthcare, research, finance, enterprise and public-sector customers, in a brand-new Operations Centre at a business building critical national infrastructure from the ground up.

The postholder monitors network, power, environmental, server, GPU and alarm activity, responds within SLA, triages and troubleshoots incidents, owns tickets end to end, and escalates cleanly to engineering, field ops, Smart Hands providers and vendors. You'd run shift handovers, coordinate site access and maintenance windows, keep knowledge articles current, and feed into outage management and root cause analysis. Real autonomy on shift, with genuine visibility to leadership.

What you'd be doing:

  • Monitoring network, power, environmental, server and GPU alarms and responding within SLA, with initial troubleshooting and incident triage
  • Creating, owning and progressing tickets through to resolution with accurate documentation, escalating to engineering, field ops or vendors as needed
  • Coordinating site access, dispatch and maintenance windows with Smart Hands/field engineering, managing handovers, and supporting outage management and root cause analysis

What they're after:

  • Experience in a NOC, data-centre operations, infrastructure support, managed services or technical operations environment, comfortable working independently on a 24x7 rotating shift pattern
  • Exposure to data-centre infrastructure (network, compute, storage, GPU, software) and hardware troubleshooting basics (racking, cabling, power and cooling), plus Linux systems administration
  • Hands-on with an ITSM/ticketing tool (ServiceNow, HaloITSM, Jira Service Management, FreshService or similar)

What's on offer:

  • The chance to help stand up a brand-new Operations Centre at a mission-driven start-up building critical national infrastructure
  • Real autonomy on shift and genuine visibility with leadership, where strong operational delivery directly enables the company's growth
  • The opportunity to shape how a next-generation AI infrastructure business runs at scale, rather than slotting into someone else's finished playbook

Any of the following would be a bonus rather than essential: exposure to Grafana, Prometheus, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Datadog or CloudWatch; basic Bash or Python scripting; ITIL awareness given the wider service delivery framework; and any interest or experience in AI infrastructure, HPC or GPU environments.

A few essentials for this one: Remote based role with visits to Site (Newport/Bristol) on occasion.
