About The Role
As part of the Enterprise Platforms team, you will be accountable for the operational performance, stability and prioritisation of our security infrastructure platforms, including firewalls, load balancers, TLS termination, certificates and associated controls. You will provide clear daily direction to our managed service provider (MSP), own security infrastructure change and incident outcomes, and ensure controls remain reliable, auditable and aligned to service availability. You will also support cyber incidents through initial review, infrastructure containment execution and coordination of Security Engineers and MSP Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of:
- Firewalls
- Load balancers
- Proxies
- External certificates, domains and DNS
- Setting daily priorities for all security-related business-as-usual work
- Providing leadership, support and a technical escalation point for security infrastructure, which may extend outside business hours
- Owning risk management plans and processes, and successfully implementing and operating them across teams
- Acting as the primary contact for security infrastructure incidents, changes and outcomes
- Assessing risk and service impact for proposed and emergency changes
- Representing security changes and improvements at relevant meetings and forums
- Providing ownership and guidance of security infrastructure policies, procedures, design and configurations
- Leading security infrastructure lifecycle planning, including end-of-life and end-of-support remediation
- Overseeing vulnerability and patch management
- Partnering with Architecture and project teams on security design and effort estimation
- Providing insight and guidance on new and emerging security technologies
- Upholding your duty of care by embedding WHS in daily activities, adhering to the Bank's policies and procedures, and actively promoting a physically and psychologically safe workplace
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of security principles and a technical understanding of IT security–related technologies (e.g. firewalls, endpoint/server protection, email security, data encryption, PKI, HSM, DLP/IDS)
- High-level knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and DNS technologies
- High-level knowledge of the Cisco security suite (ISE, Stealthwatch, etc.)
- High-level knowledge of firewall technologies, including:
- Check Point (VSX, Maestro)
- Cisco (ASA, FPS, FMC)
- Fortinet (SD-WAN)
- Cloud firewalls (AWS / Azure)
- High-level knowledge of proxy technologies, including:
- Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA)
- Forcepoint
- High-level knowledge of application delivery technologies, including:
- F5 (GTM, LTM, Distributed Cloud)
- Cloudflare
- High-level knowledge of external certificate management
- Knowledge of frameworks relevant to the role
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write procedural, process and reporting documentation
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
