Overview:
The Junior Voice Engineer is responsible for the administration, and support of enterprise voice and unified communications systems. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of voice infrastructure while supporting business communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain enterprise voice solutions including VoIP, SIP trunking, call routing, and unified communications platforms.
- Administer and support voice systems such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, Avaya, or similar technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice, network, and telecommunications issues
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and integration projects, including cloud-based telephony deployments.
- Configure and manage SBCs (Session Border Controllers), gateways, dial plans, call flows, and voice security solutions.
- Monitor voice system performance, capacity, and availability
- Collaborate with network, security, infrastructure, and business teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience supporting enterprise voice and unified communications environments.
- Knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP, and H.323.
- Experience with Cisco UC, Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom Phone, Avaya, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, QoS, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching.
