Core Infrastructure Engineer

In partnership with our client, we are looking for a Core Infrastructure Engineer. Our client is a global manufacturing company specializing in innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, with operations across more than 100 countries worldwide. The company’s IT environment supports a complex international organization, and this role provides an opportunity to contribute to the stability, improvement, and evolution of enterprise infrastructure services.

About the role

As a Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and improving core infrastructure services, ensuring their operational stability, performance, and security. You will take ownership of specific technical areas, contribute to infrastructure projects, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a global IT environment.

Key responsibilities

Technology

• Demonstrates full understanding of CoE Core Infra responsibilities:
• Participates in project tasks with autonomy and responsibility
• Maintains and optimizes operational processes
• Leads efforts to industrialize routine operations
• Focuses on and provides improvement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Automates recurring tasks and enhances operational efficiency
• Actively contributes to cloud adoption projects
• Actively learns and adapts to new developments in cloud technology

Cutting legacy tails

• Strong involvement in legacy technology decommissioning

Methods

• Industrializes operational processes:
• Monitors SLAs, dashboards, KPIs, incident health, and usage reports
• Prepares weekly and monthly status reports
• Standardizes project activities using CoE methodology, templates, and reporting
• Creates clear and up-to-date documentation, procedures, and internal communications
• Collaborates and exchanges knowledge with Center of Excellence peers
• Applies continuous improvement practices

Activities

• Works on tickets, tasks, and project deliverables
• Participates in the Core Infra Good Morning Check (GMC)
• Takes part in the on-call duty rotations, as agreed with the manager

Education & Experience

• University degree or equivalent professional knowledge
• Over 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles
• International experience desirable
• Proficiency in Serbian and English

Technical Skills

Ownership of one or more topics within the areas below:

• Datacenter technologies
• Virtualization platforms
• Server OS (installation, configuration, patching, monitoring)
• Application support
• Database administration
• AD / Entra ID integration and administration
• User lifecycle processes
• Cloud resource and cost management
• Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
• Enterprise backup and storage systems
• Linux administration
• Hardware and server maintenance
