Quectel Wireless Solutions is global IoT technology developer and cellular module supplier of 5G, LTE, LTE-A, LPWA, Smart Module, C-V2X, GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSPA(+) and GNSS modules. Due to business expansion on Serbian market in R&D Centre, Quectel is looking for motivated and proactive candidates to join our team in Belgrade.


ON-SITE, Monday - Friday with flexible start between 7:30 - 9:30 AM.


We are looking for: Smart Field Application Engineer.


Job Description:

  • Independently analyze and debug complex issues spanning Android/Linux OS, drivers, and hardware interfaces.
  • Independently capture and interpret system logs (logcat, dmesg, UART, kernel traces) to isolate and identify root causes.
  • Independently perform full system validation of modules, including LTE/5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, USB, display, audio, and sensors.
  • Develop automated or repeatable test procedures for internal or customer use.
  • Able to provide on-site support, including onsite issue-solving and organizing communication with internal and external departments.
  • Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions for customers, distributors, or internal staff.
  • Create and maintain application notes, test reports, and support documentation. Track and report field issues, trends, and customer feedback.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share expert knowledge on module issues with the team.
  • Partner closely with the sales, product management, and engineering teams to support customer projects and communicate market needs.
  • Other tasks as required by the chain of reporting and business needs based on the similar task level.


Requirements and preferable skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded systems engineering, Android/Linux integration, or technical customer support roles.
  • Proficiency with Android tools (ADB, fastboot, logcat) and Linux shell commands.
  • Experience analyzing hardware-level issues (power, USB, UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO).
  • Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Ability to read and evaluate hardware schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Familiarity with Android BSP, HAL layers, or device tree configuration
  • Understanding of software version control (Git) and issue tracking (Jira).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to travel.
