Position Summary

Allied IT Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Network & Systems Analyst to support client technology environments throughout Southeast Texas. This position will provide advanced support, administration, troubleshooting, implementation, and technical guidance across networking, servers, cloud platforms, cybersecurity systems, and managed IT services.

The successful candidate will be capable of independently managing complex technical issues, communicating directly with clients, mentoring junior personnel, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Allied’s technical operations. Candidates who demonstrate the appropriate leadership, judgment, communication skills, and organizational aptitude may have the opportunity to advance into a team lead position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot client network and systems infrastructure.
  • Support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, internet connectivity, and related network services.
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and related cloud services.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network, server, application, endpoint, security, and performance issues.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, email security, security monitoring, vulnerability remediation, patching, and system hardening.
  • Review security alerts and technical incidents, determine appropriate response actions, and coordinate escalation when necessary.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, migrations, deployments, and remediation projects.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, system documentation, configuration records, technical standards, and client operating procedures.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for clients, junior analysts, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Review the work of junior technical personnel and provide coaching, training, and technical guidance.
  • Assist with technical assessments, project scoping, equipment recommendations, implementation planning, and project cost estimates.
  • Identify recurring problems, operational risks, and opportunities to improve reliability, security, and service quality.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance, escalation support, and on-call rotations when required.
  • Support public-sector, maritime, industrial, and commercial client environments.
  • Perform other technical and leadership-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems administration, infrastructure support, cybersecurity operations, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting managed switches, firewalls, wireless systems, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and network services.
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, subnetting, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Windows endpoints.
  • Experience with virtualization, backup systems, endpoint protection, patch management, monitoring tools, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Ability to independently diagnose complex technical problems and develop practical, supportable solutions.
  • Strong technical documentation, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to nontechnical clients.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, and commitment to client service.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple client needs and coordinate work in a managed services environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, networking, information systems, or a related field.
  • Cisco, Microsoft, Fortinet, CompTIA, VMware, cybersecurity, or comparable professional certification.
  • Experience supporting firewalls, managed switching, wireless networks, Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, backup systems, endpoint detection and response, SIEM, or vulnerability-management platforms.
  • Experience working for a managed service provider or supporting multiple client environments.
  • Experience supporting public-sector, maritime, port, industrial, critical-infrastructure, or regulated environments.
  • Experience mentoring technical personnel, coordinating technical workloads, or serving as a senior escalation resource.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required client credentials, background clearances, and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, when applicable.
