About The Role
This opening is for a Hardware Engineer to support networking hardware design, deployment, and sustainment on an active DoD program. This position will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining hardware systems critical to the program and ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
This position will work closely with other engineers and program leadership to support the overall goals and objectives of the program. You will also have the opportunity to grow and sharpen your skills with other talented members of Centil.
Please note: this role is required to be onsite in Boulder.
What You'll Do
- Design, configure, install, and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) in support of DoD mission requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network issues across LAN, WAN, and classified network environments
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams on integration, testing, and deployment
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Support security accreditation activities (RMF/STIG compliance) as they relate to network hardware
- Evaluate and recommend hardware upgrades, replacements, and capacity planning
- Provide technical input to program planning, milestone reviews, and deliverables
- US Citizen with a current DoD Secret clearance or higher (current Top Secret, with SCI eligibility, is strongly preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in network hardware engineering, with at least 3 years in a DoD or government contracting environment
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise/defense networking platforms
- Familiarity with STIGs, RMF, and DoD network security requirements
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Security+
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Ability to passionately deliver high-level messaging to various types of audiences--this will eventually include senior leaders. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical personnel
- Self-motivated individual who actively and independently seeks out opportunities for learning and development
- Collaborates well; enjoys working as part of a team
- DoD Secret or higher clearance is required. All applicants must be US citizens eligible for a US Government security clearance
