Data Center Engineer

Datacentre Operations Engineer | AI & GPU Infrastructure | Paris Region, France

We are supporting a rapidly growing AI infrastructure provider hiring several hands-on Datacentre Operations Engineers for a major GPU deployment in the Paris region.

This role focuses on the IT hardware layer of the datacentre rather than pure facilities engineering. You will support the installation, commissioning and ongoing operation of high-density GPU infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Rack, cable and commission servers, GPU systems and network equipment.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, break/fix and component replacement.
• Troubleshoot fibre, copper and physical connectivity issues.
• Support InfiniBand, Ethernet and out-of-band networks.
• Complete rack-readiness, hardware acceptance and deployment checks.
• Manage RMAs, spares, inventory and asset records.
• Respond to incidents and work within SLA-driven processes.
• Follow and improve SOPs, MOPs, runbooks and documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers and remote engineering teams.
• Participate in shift and on-call coverage where required.

Requirements

• Hands-on datacentre operations, hardware engineering or infrastructure support experience.
• Strong rack and stack, cabling and server hardware skills.
• Experience troubleshooting and replacing physical components.
• Familiarity with fibre and copper connectivity.
• Comfortable working onsite in a procedure-led, mission-critical environment.
• Professional English and sufficient French for safe site communication.
• Right to work in France or the EU without sponsorship.

Desirable experience

• NVIDIA GPU servers, AI infrastructure or HPC.
• InfiniBand or Mellanox.
• High-density compute, leaf-spine or OOB networking.
• Datacentre commissioning and operational readiness.
• Hyperscale, cloud or colocation environments.
• Hardware from NVIDIA, Dell, HPE, Lenovo or Supermicro.
