Our client is a well-established Irish consultancy seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid IT support background who is looking to develop their systems administration, networking, and infrastructure skills in a hands-on environment.

Working closely with the ICT Manager, you'll provide support across multiple sites while contributing to the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organisation's technology estate.

🔧 Role & Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to office-based and remote users.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Support Windows Servers, Hyper-V, networking equipment, and end-user devices.
• Carry out structured network cabling, patch panel management, and comms room maintenance.
• Manage user accounts across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.
• Log, manage, and resolve incidents while escalating where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and infrastructure records.
• Manage IT assets including hardware, software, and licensing.
• Support endpoint security, patch management, and system monitoring.
• Assist with backup monitoring and disaster recovery activities.
• Deploy laptops, desktops, printers, and VoIP equipment.
• Support ongoing improvements across the IT environment.

🧩 What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years' experience in an IT Support or Systems Administration role.
• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Windows Server environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Entra ID.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Experience with Active Directory and user administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
• Full clean driving licence with flexibility to travel to other sites when required.

➕ Nice to Have

• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or similar certifications.
• Experience with Hyper-V virtualisation.
• Exposure to Cisco networking, SonicWall firewalls, or Veeam backup solutions.
• Experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
• Basic PowerShell or Bash scripting knowledge.
• Familiarity with macOS and Linux environments.
