About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading global technology organisation, is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join their infrastructure operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale, mission-critical data centre environment supporting cutting-edge technology and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the deployment, installation, movement and decommissioning of server and network hardware.
- Coordinate rack turn-up activities and ensure infrastructure capacity requirements are met.
- Assess and manage data centre space, power and cooling considerations for new deployments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, cabling and infrastructure-related issues.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, facilities and project teams to support infrastructure initiatives.
- Maintain accurate asset, inventory and operational documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within data centre operations.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working within a data centre, infrastructure or critical operations environment.
- Knowledge of server hardware, storage systems, networking equipment and cabling.
- Understanding of power, cooling and capacity management within a data centre environment.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and infrastructure issues.
- Exposure to Linux or server operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
