Scope of Services
The engineer will provide onsite Smart Hands and Network Deployment support for Cisco
Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) installation activities.
Responsibilities
• Stage and prepare equipment prior to cutover activities.
• Install and rack two (2) Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs).
• Perform power and network cross-connects.
• Verify switchport availability and physical connectivity.
• Install and connect required SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet patch
cables.
• Support remote engineering teams during implementation and cutover.
• Validate physical installation and connectivity.
• Remove legacy WLC equipment (if applicable).
• Label, pack, and prepare decommissioned equipment for return shipment.
• Provide completion updates and site photographs upon request.
Required Skills
• Rack & Stack experience
• Network cabling and fiber connectivity
• Cisco WLC installation experience
• Smart Hands / Remote Hands support
• Basic network troubleshooting and connectivity verification
Required Tools
• Standard installation toolkit
• Laptop with PuTTY and TFTP Server software installed
• Console cable (USB-A to USB-B)
• Four (4) Ethernet/LAN cables
• One (1) crossover cable
• USB/Thumb drive containing required IOS image
• Internet connectivity (Hotspot, Broadband, or Wi-Fi Dongle)
• 6-foot ladder
Deliverables
• Successful installation of Cisco 9800 WLCs
• Physical connectivity verification completed
• Legacy equipment removed and prepared for shipment (if applicable)
• Completion report and site status update provided to the remote team
