Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is responsible for network administration, troubleshooting, implementation, security, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate has experience working in complex enterprise environments and enjoys solving challenging technical issues while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.
Responsibilities Of The Network Engineer
- Install, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and security issues.
- Support LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networking environments.
- Perform network upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements.
- Collaborate with systems, security, and desktop support teams on infrastructure initiatives.
- Maintain network documentation and follow established change management processes.
- Participate in network projects, implementations, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure network availability, reliability, and security.
- 5+ years of Network Engineering or Network Administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies.
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking.
- Experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Experience troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco Firepower firewalls.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure or AWS).
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
