EMC Lab Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated EMC Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in EMC testing, laboratory operations, and instrumentation, as well as hands-on experience in the setup, execution, and support of EMC measurements and experimental activities. Their tasks will support the experimental capabilities and the research and development programs at DERC.

The candidate will perform activities such as:

• Support EMC testing activities, measurements, and laboratory operations under the supervision of the people leader and senior engineering staff
• Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of EMC test equipment, instrumentation, and experimental systems
• Support the execution of conducted and radiated emissions and susceptibility / immunity testing activities
• Assist in troubleshooting, calibration, and verification of laboratory equipment and test configurations
• Collaborate with internal teams to support laboratory activities and experimental capabilities
• Prepare test documentation and support the generation of technical reports
• Ensure documentation of technical data generated for the assigned tasks
• Share technical information and promote open dialogue
• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions within the activity domain of DERC
• Other duties related to the position

Skills required for the job:

• Strong knowledge of EMC testing principles and laboratory practices.
• Experience with EMC test equipment and software tools used for conducted and radiated measurements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to conduct experiments and testing activities in a laboratory setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with electrical, electronic, and laboratory instrumentation is a great plus.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in EMC testing, laboratory operations, and instrumentation. Fresh graduates from universities within the UAE are also encouraged to apply.
