The Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL) is seeking a skilled and motivated ICT professional to join its Information and Communications Technology team. This role is critical to maintaining the security, reliability and performance of the Company's enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring resilient connectivity across corporate systems and operational technology (OT) environments that support Barbados' critical energy infrastructure.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer – Cybersecurity, Governance & Compliance, the successful candidate will be responsible for administering and securing the Company's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, firewall protection, SD-WAN, VPN and secure communications across corporate and operational technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Administer firewalls, SD-WAN and VPN infrastructure.

Maintain secure LAN, WAN and wireless services.

Support OT/SCADA network connectivity.

Monitor network performance and resolve incidents.

Implement approved network changes and documentation.

Support VoIP and remote access services.

Coordinate vendors and service providers.

Provide technical support during outages.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or diploma in IT, Networking or Cybersecurity.

4–6 years' network administration experience.

Experience with firewalls, VPNs and switching.

OT/SCADA experience is desirable.

Fortinet, CCNA or Network+ certification is an asset.

Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork.

On-call support required.
