Lead Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking a Lead Database Migration Specialist with hands-on experience driving heterogeneous migrations end-to-end, equivalent to an AWS ProServe Database Migration Consultant. In this role, you will own the DMS/SCT toolchain and author the migration runbook that the rest of the team will follow.

Responsibilities

• Lead heterogeneous database migration delivery from planning through execution
• Set up, configure, and validate AWS DMS and SCT for migration workloads
• Author comprehensive migration runbooks that the broader team will execute against
• Provision and manage Aurora PostgreSQL resources using Infrastructure-as-Code
• Drive production-grade operations, including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing
• Own the end-to-end DMS/SCT toolchain across migration projects
• Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to ensure migration success criteria are met
• Provide technical guidance to the migration team during execution phases

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in database migrations
• 1+ years of leadership experience guiding technical teams through migration delivery
• Expertise in AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and AWS Application Migration Service (MGN)
• Deep proficiency in SQL Server and PostgreSQL (or Aurora PostgreSQL)
• Background in production-grade operations, including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing
• Skills in Infrastructure-as-Code for database resources using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Showcase of authoring or contributing to migration runbooks for enterprise customers
• Proven capability to deliver heterogeneous database migrations end-to-end
• Strong English communication skills (B2 level or higher)
